Remembering Our Past

There was a time in America when going to college was not the norm, but the exception. The fortunate few who attended a higher learning institution brought a feeling of pride and honor to their families and friends. As you walked through a college campus, school spirit could be seen and felt everywhere; represented through social organizations, seasonal sports, traditional songs, and the student’s attire.

I ask you to take a walk through your institution’s Alumni or Athletic Hall of Fame and you will see exactly what I mean. A lot has changed since the founding of your school, but you should never overlook the privilege we have to become a part of a long line of men and women in search of knowledge and a better life.
